Rarely seen deep-sea barreleye fish filmed in 4K
Scientists have captured footage of the rarely seen barreleye fish in its natural habitat. The fish, which has a transparent head, was spotted on a recent expedition aboard the David Packard research vessel. This is the 11th time MBARI scientists have observed this unique deep-sea species.
Why it's good news: It highlights the ongoing efforts of scientists to learn more about our ocean's biodiversity.
