Webb detects ammonia and unexpected chill on a distant giant planet
Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope have discovered ammonia and other substances in the atmosphere of a distant giant planet, HATS-6 b. The observations suggest that this planet may be cooler than expected due to its unique relationship with its star. The planet is located 500 light-years from Earth.
