Volunteers plant 109,000 trees in new woodlands

The effort has also included planting hedges along new lengths. A substantial total number of trees and metres of hedging have been planted as a result.
Why it's good news: It shows that community efforts can make a big impact on the environment.
Environment stories track ecosystems recovering, species rebounding, clean energy milestones, and conservation wins. Climate news is included when the story centers on measurable progress rather than projections of future damage. We believe tracking what is working is as important as tracking what is not.
